Why is Reengus Fort famous? It is about the strong walled fort surrounded by a deep ditch and located in Reengus town near Khatu Shyam Ji Dham.
Do you know that there is also a Garh in Reengus town which is known as Reengus Fort. This fort is built in Azad Chowk inside Reengus town.
Earlier a police station used to run inside this fort. There is a temple of Balaji in this fort which is known as Parcha Wale Garh Ke Balaji.
In olden times, there was a deep ditch around this fort for security but now this ditch has been filled with debris. There is a feeling of a ditch near the main door.
There is a strong rampart with circular bastions built around this fort. The width of the walls of the rampart and the bastions is quite high due to which the fort looks quite safe.
Due to the structure of these bastions made of stone and lime, this fort looks quite visible from a distance. The main door comes after entering through the bastion. On entering through this door, there is a very large and open square inside.
On one side of the square, Balaji temple is situated in which women of the town are often seen doing puja and bhajan. There are stairs on two or three sides to go up from the square.
On seeing the bastion from above, one gets a different feeling of its grandeur. There are some rooms and a main room built on the top. This main room is a bit grand.
Perhaps this room must have been the residence of the chief of this fort. If we talk about the fame of this fort, then even the people around do not know about it properly.
